Ahhh, Visitors

My in-laws are in for the week.  It has been fun having them around.  Kyle and Kayla took the day off Monday to spend with them.  (I didn't have enough notice at work to do so. Sigh!)  They went to Granville, Ohio to see the town.  It has neat old mansions, at least Victorian-style mansions.

Tomorrow is my day with Kyle to spend some quality time with Robin.  We are going to break out the raclete machine again and wait on the Direct TV man to show up.  Our satelite box keeps shutting itself off.  Upside is now we get DVR....whohoo!

I love long visits with Robin.  She has a way of bring about wonderful, thought provoking conversations.  It is nice having a good relationship with her.  I can't claim the evil in-law that some people talk about.  Robin is truly like a second mom.  She just has a way of putting oil in my lamp.  Maybe its the wisdom of having 8 adult children....

  1. I always enjoyed Robin when they lived here. I think she's a great lady. I too enjoyed having a wonderful relationship with my MIL...I learned so much from her. It's nice to have that. You'd be an awesome DIL to have though..I'd take you in a minute! Enjoy your time this week. I'm looking forward to my family coming in on Fri. Hope to see you Sat at the social.

  3. You are fortunate to have such a good relationship with your MIL. Mine was a great lady in many ways, and a wonderful grandmother, but she always had a little too much of an agenda about how I should do things and wasn't afraid to tell me.

Still, we did fine, and as years went by, we got closer.

    =)

  6. Stacy,
I hope your time with your MIL was everything you hoped for!

I'll be thinking of you when your conference week comes up. 50 students!! Yikes! I'm overwhelmed with my 26!

I am enjoying the conferences, though. Like you said, you get a great perspective of where the kids are coming from. :)
