School Starts...Again

Today was Kayla's offical start to her sophomore year.  Dakota actually started on Monday.   (Whohoo, back to a normal schedule, well at least for me.  The kids aren't getting home until 6 pm or later every night.)

Dakota:
Activities: Varsity Football, Varsity Track, YMCA lifeguard
School: Ashland County West Holmes Career Center (Resource Conservation Program)
Goal:  To get A's and B's
Height: 5 feet 11 inches
Favorite Color: Yellow
Favortie Movie: Tommy Boy
Favorite Subject: Math

Kayla
Activities: JV Soccer, JV Basketball Cheerleader, Choir
School: Hillsdale High School
Goal:  To pass 10th grade
Height: 5 feet 1 inch
Favorite Color: Blue
Favortie Movie genre:  Chick flicks (she has too many to list)
Favorite Subject: English

For me...my days are just flying by.  It seems like I've way over planned for my kids.  I'm going to be rolling things over to the next day all week.  That is a good problem to have.  So far, so good on the start of the year.  I'm enjoying being with the kids again.  My new principal is great, I'm really enjoying her take on things.  The new intervention specialist and I are kindred spirits....life is good.

  2. Oh boy! I'm excited for you, Stacey! Sounds like a fabulous start for everyone. I'll know more about our new principal tomorrow, our first day of inservice/staff development. We also have Open House tomorrow night. It will be a long day!

Have a great year! I love that overplanning . . . that's the story of my life in teaching. I'm always overplanned!

  3. Tell Kota to calm down a bit...turn down the smile machine,he almost blinded me with his sparkly teeth...he and Driana are at the JVS together..is that good or bad? I hope your year will be great and look on the bright side, no RS pres. meetings!

  6. Glad you're having a great start to the year. The kids are so big! They are both so good-looking! I guess I never noticed their difference in height. Wow! Hope everyone has a great school year.

  7. I can't believe how grown they have gotten. I remember the days of baby sitting them and they thought Connie and I were the coolest. Sure do miss those days of dancing on your counter tops to the Beach Boys. I hope they both have an exciting school year this year.
